The Niseko / Hanazono POW Experience
Niseko is the second snowiest resort on the globe and with a mere 8% water quantity, the snow is dry and deep and provides some of the most exhilarating powder skiing and snowboarding experiences anywhere in the world. It is not unusual for guests to find themselves enveloped in snow, or as we say, “experiencing the White Room”, as they bounce their way down the slopes.

The Hanazono area with its North East Aspect is renowned for its extra dry snow and receiving that little bit more.

It offers incredible tree skiing and access to some of the best off piste-skiing in the world.

You can climb the Peak to experience 1,000 vertical meters of perfect powder - 1308m down to Hanazono 308 where the bells are at exactly 308m.

On a clear day, this climb is rewarded with the ultimate ski or ride experience, where views from the Peak are truly awe-inspiring, spanning from the slopes of nearby Mt Yotei (the North Island’s answer to Mt Fuji) all the way to the ocean’s edge.

Hanazono Mountain Area – Big Improvements

Hanazono continues to improve its offering, this season the resort features some exciting new developments.

A new learning area at the base of Hanazono will be a first timer paradise; two covered Magic Carpets with one of them 125m long is a first for Japan. Once beginners find their legs, an easy transition to the hooded quad chair and onto the revamped Silver Dream trail will make them feel like they are well on their way to becoming skiers or snowboarders.  The lifts at Hanazono will start at 8.30am to ensure you get first tracks and Hanazono lift 1 has been upgraded to increase its speed 20%, more runs means more fun and better value.

The Hanazono area boasts the Quiksilver terrain park and half pipe. The park has quickly become Hokkaido’s hottest and with the addition of new features, this season is once again guaranteed to deliver the best.

The Niseko Allure
It is no surprise that
Niseko has become Japan’s most acclaimed ski resort for the International guest. The blend of accommodation, restaurants, culture and activities suit all tastes, add in the breathtaking scenery, champagne powder, high tech facilities, constant upgrades and you have a perfect formula to attract skiers and snowboarders from around the world.

Comprising of four main areas - Hanazono, Hirafu, Higashiyama and Annupuri  - Niseko receives more than 16 metres of powder snow from November until May as Siberian storm systems sweep across the Sea of Japan with amazing regularity.

Ideal for skiing and riding at any level, the area offers excellent beginner slopes, especially with the new developments at Hanazono; wide open runs for cruising, as well as challenging diverse terrain and enormous gladed areas to test the most accomplished powder skier.

With a Niseko United lift pass, visitors can explore over 48 km of runs serviced by 38 lifts - the longest run a spectacular 5.6 km.  The area offers 1,000 vertical metres of consistent deep powder and immaculately groomed runs for Beginners (30%), Intermediate (40%) and Advanced (30%).
